These are indeed a great resource and it's nice to see our friends at National LAH on youtube...
Not only is it a lesson in drill that can be viewed over and over and practiced at home, but it's an example of effective leadership and future leaders of the Gebirgsjagers should take note:
Effective leadership usually requires creating a team of subject matter experts (sorry for the corporate-speak) and solving a problem-- in this case how do we stay sharp in between events and how do we help the newer guys learn the basics?
Solving this problem required leveraging modern media and working with a team of people to create a way to provide training 24/7 on demand. You don't have to be a video or technology expert AND the guy who knows drill to create this. The job of a leader is to assemble the people who can help and give them support and direction. And when the job is finished, make sure your team gets the credit deserved (notice the credits rolling at the end of the LAH video)
I also liked how LAH made this "response-driven", i.e., you can contact them through the website if you are interested in joining, so this becomes a recruiting tool as well.
Everytime we do something like this, we should be thinking of all the ways it can be used....as an old boss of mine said, "Get $10 of impact for every $1 you spend-- Get 10 for 1"
